Ministries
Kidsworld
Kidsworld, Centerpoint Church’s ministry for infants through fifth grade, is held during all weekend services and is committed to creatively teaching the cornerstones of the Bible and giving kids a solid foundation on which to start their journey with Christianity and their personal relationship with Christ. We see kids for who they are and seek to reach out to them on their level. We create environments that stir kids hunger for God’s Word by giving them experiences they can’t get anywhere else. We inspire kids to grow spiritually through relevant Bible teaching, dynamic praise and worship, group discussion, age-appropriate activities, real life Bible applications, and one on one relationships designed to encourage them to be all God wants them to be.
Mission
“To love and lead children to a life changing connection with Christ. We accomplish this through nurturing their spirit, preparing them to discover and develop a relationship with Jesus, and enabling them to face the future in Christ with the heart of a servant.”
First Time Visitors
Kids [infants through fifth grade] are invited to check into Kidsworld. Follow the signs and find your way to our Central Check-in located to the left of the main worship center. It is there we will enter your information into our check in system, print out your child’s nametags and give you a corresponding number to match your child’s nametag [this will assist you during check out]. Then we’ll be happy to direct you to your children’s classrooms.
Nursery/Toddlers [infants-18 mos. / 1 1/2-2yrs / 2yrs-3yrs]
Kids in our nursery/toddler area of ministry will discover God is real, they can talk to God anytime through prayer and how the Bible has exciting stories for them to learn from. We have a clean, safe, and secure nursery for infants. Parents can relax and enjoy church as their babies are cuddled and cared for. As kids begin to walk they will graduate into our toddler area, which is a fun-learning environment, designed just for them. Children ages 2-3 yrs. will sing songs, experience craft and snack times as well as look forward to energetic learning activities all based on familiar Bible stories.
Preschool [4,5, & Kindergarten]
Kids will begin the day’s adventure with high-energy worship songs and motions, followed by a Bible story. Drama and object lessons will be used to introduce the theme and Bible concepts they will be learning that day. They will participate in age-appropriate, hands-on learning activities that will emphasize the theme. Preschoolers will then divide into age-appropriate smaller groups and rotate through divided learning centers.
We engage the five senses to help kids master concepts through creative activities including games, crafts, and snacks that will reiterate the day’s Biblical focus. Kids in preschool will learn to know God, talk to God, tell about God, love God, and work for God.
Elementary [1st-5th grade]
Elementary kids will enjoy a dynamic program with fun, fast-paced humor and application-based Bible lessons they can put to use right away! As they come together for a large group/small group children’s church experience they will experience high-energy worship, innovative messages, dynamic prayer, Bible challenges, and an interactive multimedia based teaching. Each week kids will discover how they can take their next step toward God and how to apply God's Word to their everyday lives. They will be encouraged to take home fun study guides designed to reinforce the principles of the day’s theme and lesson.
Special Blessings
This program is for children who have special needs. We offer a classroom environment with flexible, sensory-minded curriculum and play during our 10:30am service on Sundays. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all share a heart for loving and leading children with special needs to a life-changing connection with Christ. We invite new families to apply to our program prior to attending. This will give us the opportunity to ensure that we have appropriate accommodations available. Upon request, we would love to match your child with a one-on-one buddy in a room with their typical peers. However, this accommodation is offered on a first come, first served basis, and is dependent on the number of volunteers available on a given day.
Please contact Rhonda Savage if you have any questions or concerns.
Parents, please complete the Intake Form prior to the first time your child participates in Special Blessings.
Partnering with Parents
We know that no one has more influence in children’s lives than their parents. We want to collaborate our efforts to maximize the spiritual impact in every child’s faith.
Our goal is to provide parents, the spiritual leaders of each child’s home; with the tools and resources they need to help them bring the Bible to life for their kids. As kids learn Bible truths an experience God’s love at both home and at church, the message of Christ, His love, and His sacrifice will come alive. We know together in unity with parents we can help kids develop a faith in Jesus Christ that will last a lifetime.
Screening Process
All volunteers are carefully screened and supervised. We are committed to a strong security policy and procedures:
1. Six Month Rule- All those who apply to serve in the children’s ministry must have been in fellowship at Centerpoint Church for six months.
2. Children’s’ Ministry Application-All those who wish to serve in the children’s ministry must fill out a comprehensive ministry application.
3. Child Abuse Registry- We check the applicant’s name and social security number through the Child Abuse Registry.
4. Criminal History Background Check- In compliance with the FCRA we do an extensive background check.
5. Personal References-We ask for two personal references of people who affirm the applicant’s ability to serve in children’s ministry.
6. A Mandatory Orientation-All who serve in children’s ministry are required to attend an orientation meeting. At this meeting we review our ministry vision and discuss the policy and procedure manual. This manual was written in cooperation with the Riverside County Child Protective Services.
7. Apprenticeship- All newly accepted volunteer team members will be placed into the ministry beside an approved “mentor” who will supervise them and apprentice them for a period of four to six weeks.
8. “Never Alone” Policy-We have a universal, set-in-stone rule that governs all of our functions: Adults will never be alone with children.
9. Team Wear- All those who have “cleared” and passed through our screening process will be given a “kidsworld” t-shirt to wear while serving.
